Samsung's next generation foldables are almost here - they are already on pre-order and will start shipping in a couple of weeks time. But the market they enter is more heavily contested than ever.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 is no longer the only horizontal foldable in North America, following the launch of the Google Pixel Fold. The Fold may not have the best chipset in the world, but it has a very similar inner display, an IPX8 water resistance rating and, perhaps, better cameras.
You can check out the photos we took with the Z Fold5 in Seoul - it's too early to discuss quality...

AMD announces Radeon RX 7900 GRE in China
AMD today announced the Radeon RX 7900 GRE desktop graphics. Although announced first in China, it seems the card will also be available globally.
The RX 7900 GRE (which stands for Golden Rabbit Edition) is a cut-down version of the RX 7900 XT with some minor reductions to the GPU and significant reductions to the memory.
Compared to the 7900 XT's 84 compute units, the 7900 GRE has 80. The game clock drops from 2000MHz to 1880MHz. The 20GB 20Gbps 320-bit memory drops down to 16GB 18Gbps 256-bit, which causes the memory bandwidth to drop from 800GB/s to 576GB/s. The Infinity...

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 camera samples
Samsung's Summer Unpacked is behind us and we're left with a couple of foldable Galaxies to review. But since reviewing takes place in Headquarters, and the phones are still in Seoul, we figured we'd fill our time with a photo walk around town with the Galaxy Z Flip5.
The Z Flip5's camera system is mostly unchanged compared to the previous generation. Short of a small tweak with the selfie camera's lens aperture (the internal one), the rest remains the same in terms of specs.
There's a 12MP primary camera with a 1/1.76" sensor and a 24mm-equivalent lens with an f/1.8 aperture. Also...

You can run any app on the Galaxy Z Flip5's cover screen, sort of
The biggest upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 is its bigger, folder-style cover display. It's more than three times bigger than the one of the Flip4, but out of the box is a bit limited.
Luckily, you'll be able to expand its functionality using Samsung's backed-in software and the official tinker tool called Good Lock (only available in select markets, unfortunately).
The easiest way to add some apps to the cover screen is to go into the Flip5's Settings, then 'Labs', and enable the 'Apps allowed on cover screen'. This will make Maps, Google and Samsung's respected Messages...

The DJI Air 3 is official with two cameras - a wide and a telephoto
DJI has finally brought a comprehensive camera system to its non-Pro drone lineup with the DJI Air 3. A successor to the very popular Air 2S - the drone that brought a 1-inch type sensor to the masses - the Air 3 brings a dual setup consisting of wide and telephoto cameras.
Both sensors are 48MP 1/1.3-inch, slightly smaller than the 20MP 1-inch, but the main camera has a much brighter f/1.7 lens (compared to the 22mm f/2.8 on the Air 2S). The Quad-Bayer sensors will by default output 12MP shots, but you can still snap in the full 48MP resolution.
Specs-wise, the wide camera is a...

Apple urges its OLED suppliers to go bezel-less
Apple is reportedly asking its OLED suppliers Samsung Display and LG Display to develop OLED panels without any bezels. The move is two-pronged - initially, Apple wants to reduce the bezels on this year's iPhone 15 Pro models - then, likely a few years down the line, Apple is looking to adopt full display. That means no camera cutout and as thin a bezel as possible.
That word possible is the key. At this time there are a few critical obstacles in front of Apple's bezel-less plans. One is the under-panel camera (UPC) - currently the outer film layer isn't as thin as it needs to be to...

Flashback: a look back at the best mobile games of 2013
According to stats from App Annie, back in 2013 there were only 7 mobile games with a revenue of $100 million (or more) a year (PDF). Fast forward to 2021 and there were 7 mobile games with revenues of $100 million or more... a month. Mobile games are now the dominant form of gaming after hitting 51% of all revenue in 2021.
Today there are AAA mobile games and a number of tournaments around the world. But a decade ago in 2013 game developers were still coming to terms with the larger displays and more powerful chipsets of smartphones, which were a world apart from the J2ME and Symbian...

A renowned tipster Max Jambor on Twitter summarized most specs in a single tweet but has also added new information - the OnePlus Open will most likely be based on the Oppo Find N2. He has been a significant contributor to OnePlus Open's leaks for the past couple of months, so he probably knows what he's talking...

Motorola Razr 40 Ultra / Razr+ makes its way through bend test with a surprise result
Last month Motorola made the Razr 40 Ultra foldable smartphone official for international markets, and the same device is being marketed in the US as the Razr+. It's one and the same, so when Zack from the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel performs his trademark durability test on a Razr+, know that if you aren't in North America what you're seeing applies to the Razr 40 Ultra as well.
Now that we got that necessary bit of clarification out of the way (thanks, Motorola!), let's get right to it. As usual, Zack subjects the smartphone to a series of tests - screen scratching, screen...

Oppo K11 price confirmed as live shot leaks online
The Oppo K11 is right around the corner, and the phone popped up at multiple places over the weekend. The Oppo PJC110 phone appeared on Geekbench, revealing a Snapdragon 782G chipset and 12 GB RAM, but we already knew that from a TENAA listing.
The new bit of info comes from Oppo China president Bobee Liu who stated midrangers around CNY2,000 are now expected to come with a flagship-tier camera, meaning the K11 will have a 50 MP IMX890 sensor. The information arrived just hours after a leaked photo of the phone revealed a triple camera setup.
The new Oppo K11 might be just a new...
