Xiaomi Mix Flip gets certified in China with support for satellite connectivity

Back in September of last year we first heard that Xiaomi was working on a flip-style foldable to complement the Mix Fold line in its portfolio. This was to be called Xiaomi Mix Flip, and it was rumored to arrive alongside the Mix Fold 4 at some point later this year.

Today, the Mix Flip has been certified in China by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The certification reveals what might be a surprising fact: the Mix Flip will have support for satellite connectivity.

The fact that it's going to be running Android is also confirmed, as is its 5G support, but...

The Galaxy S24 Ultra's 4K 120fps and 8K zoom video are a very big deal

There's a lot to uncover from Samsung's Galaxy S24 Ultra launch. The sensor sizes, the camera samples, and now some interesting camera details.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is a surprisingly capable videography phone. It can capture both 4K at 120fps and 8K video from its 5x zoom camera. Those two abilities alone make the Galaxy S24 Ultra one of the best phones for video - shooting 4K at 120fps isn't meant for extremely fast playback but rather for extremely smooth slow motion - capture in 4K at 120fps and then slow down the video four times and run it at 30fps. Shooting at 5x in 8K gives...

Apple officially confirmed it will disable the blood oxygen tracking on its Watch Ultra 2 and Series 9 smartwatches in the United States. Current units on the market, including those that are already shipped to third-party retailers, will continue functioning as before. Users outside the United States will remain unaffected as well.

AI-focused Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra brings new 5x camera, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is here, bringing a bunch of updates, while maintaining its predecessor's formula.

Visually, the Galaxy S24 Ultra looks very similar to the S23 Ultra but there are notable changes. The frame is now made of a titanium alloy instead of aluminum. Titanium is more durable and scratch-resistant than aluminum without increasing the weight - the Galaxy S24 Ultra is actually a gram lighter than the S23 Ultra. The new Ultra is a bit thinner (0.3mm), and shorter (1.1mm), thanks largely to slimmer bezels. Glass-wise, the S24 Ultra employs a new Gorilla Glass Armor on the...

Samsung Galaxy A35 pops up on Geekbench with Exynos 1380

Samsung Galaxy A35 appeared in renders two months ago, and today, the smartphone was spotted on Geekbench. The device will have an Exynos 1380 chipset and a 6 GB RAM option, as revealed by the scorecard.

The SM-A356U device scored 697 for a single core and 2,332 for multiple cores, which is an underwhelming result compared with another Galaxy A device that has the same chipset. The obvious explanation is we are looking at an early prototype, and raw performance will be improved by the time the phone is launched.

Geekbench rarely mentions the chipset but we know it is the Exynos 1380...

Samsung's big unveiling event for the Galaxy S24 family is taking place this Wednesday, on January 17. So now, with mere hours to go, the last-minute leaks are starting to pour in. This one right here seems to have originated Samsung's Austrian arm - someone sharing a screenshot of its internal systems.

Samsung Galaxy C55 and Galaxy F55 get rubber stamped by the Wi-Fi Alliance

A few days ago TENAA certified the Samsung SM-C5560, which will likely be sold as the Galaxy C55. Now the Wi-Fi Alliance has issued a certificate for this same model number, indicating that a global launch is near. It’s not just that, the SM-E555B/DS was also certified, this one should be the Galaxy F55.

Both phones support dual-band Wi-Fi 6, which has been the standard for a while now (Wi-Fi 7 is too new to debut on a mid-ranger). The Galaxy F55 will likely be a localized version of the Galaxy M55. A few months ago the M55 was spotted running Geekbench with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and 8GB...

Weekly poll results: the OnePlus Ace 3 looks promising, but needs good reviews to succeed

The results from last week’s poll look promising, but the OnePlus Ace 3 needs to impress people in order to succeed – glowing reviews are vital as too many people are on the fence.

The Ace 3 didn’t get out of it unscathed, some just don’t want a phone this large – the 6.78” display is working against the Ace 3, especially since it’s curved. That wasn’t the only issue either, many were unhappy with the basic 8MP ultra wide camera – the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 has an advanced ISP, but a low resolution sensor doesn’t give it much to work with.

The Ace 3 will also need to stand out from...

Xiaomi's new Poco X6, X6 Pro and M6 Pro are already available on Amazon Germany

Xiaomi unveiled new Poco mid-rangers earlier this week and they are already available and with some discounts too.

Starting with the Poco X6, this one is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset (paired with 12GB of RAM) and has a surprisingly awesome display for a sub-€300 phone – a 6.67” OLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate and 1,220 x 2,712px resolution, plus 12-bit colors and Dolby Vision. The camera is admittedly less awesome with a small 64MP sensor in the main and an 8MP ultra wide (118°). The 5,100mAh battery with 67W fast charging is pretty good, though. And you get stereo...
