OpenAI just announced GPT-4o mini – a new compact but powerful AI model aiming to make the GPT-4 engine more affordable.

The price is set at 15 cents per 1 million input tokens and 60 cents per 1 million output tokens, which is a lot cheaper than GPT-3.5 Turbo.

OpenAI revealed that 4o mini is much more powerful than other models such as Gemini Flash, Claude Haiku, and GPT-3.5 Turbo. It surpasses all of them in benchmarks and produces results that are nearly as good as GPT-4o.

Smartphone shipments in Q2 2024 grew 6.5% on a yearly basis, revealed IDC in its latest report on the global market. Companies saw a fourth consecutive quarter of shipment growth and are building towards an expected recovery by the end of the year.

iPhone 16 Pro to get 40W wired charging and 20W MagSafe wireless charging

The latest rumors out of China claim the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will see improvements in their charging rates. While the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max can go up to 27W using a cable and up to 15W using MagSafe wireless charging, this year's models will allegedly take things further.

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are apparently going to support 40W wired charging and 20W MagSafe wireless charging. Those are, of course, peak rates, and won't be achieved for a very long time throughout the charging process.

Samsung union workers in South Korea plan to prolong strike indefinitely until conditions are met

Thousands of Samsung workers in South Korea went on a three-day strike this Monday to press management into offering higher wages and improved working conditions. The first unionized strike in Samsung’s history is led by the National Samsung Electronics Union (NSEU) which represents the largest unionized group at Samsung with 30,000 registered members.

OnePlus Nord 4 in for review

Welcome to your first look at the upcoming OnePlus Nord 4. We've just received the phone for review but we are only allowed to show you a few photos ahead of the announcement and we can't share any of the key specs either.

Samsung Galaxy S24+ running Android 15/One UI 7 spotted in the Geekbench database

The Samsung Galaxy S24+ will be kept up to date with new OS releases for seven years and the first major update is getting closer. The phone was spotted running Android 15 for a Geekbench test, which also means that it was running the new One UI 7.0.

Back in May, Samsung was already testing One UI 7 on the S24 Ultra. Now, the two other S24 members are joining the fun. Tarun Vats, who spotted the Geekbench result, also reports that Samsung has internal test builds for the small Galaxy S24. They have the following version numbers: S928BXXU3BXG2, S928BOXM3BXG2.

Samsung is back with part 3 of its Galaxy history series and this time it is focusing on smartwatches. You can catch the previous entries which looked back on the history of the Fold and Buds series.
