Google Pixel 9 Pro XL vs. Pixel 8 Pro

This year Google added a new model to its flagship lineup - Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, dethroning last year's Google Pixel 8 Pro as a top-tier Pixel in the family. Despite what the name suggests, the 9 Pro XL is more of an iterative update than a revolutionary reboot.

Furthermore, the Pixel 9 Pro XL's launch price is considerably higher than the going price for the 8 Pro. So, on paper, the 8 Pro seems like the more sensible choice. The devil is often in the details, though, so let's see if the 9 Pro XL deserves its price premium.

Honor MagicBook Art 14 review

Back in July, Honor unveiled the MagicBook Art 14 for the Chinese market and it looked truly impressive on paper.

It has a nearly 15-inch screen (14.6-inch) with the very convenient 3:2 aspect ratio, and it's a 120 Hz touchscreen OLED panel to boot. The laptop has a 60Wh battery, a full set of ports, Intel's Core 7 Ultra 155H processor with up to 32 GB of RAM, and up to 1 TB of storage.

All that fits in a 1.03kg package - you read that correctly - a feather above 1kg. To put that into perspective, the 15.3-inch MacBook Air has only around 7% more display area (677cm2 vs 634cm2) but...

Android 15 out to devs, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 is here, Week 36 in review

Another week down, so let's recap. Google released Android 15 to developers and Pixels are expected to get the update within "weeks". Other makers should announce their update roadmaps shortly.

Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. The new mid-range platform comes to take over from the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 as the company seemingly forgot there's no second-gen version of the 4nm chip. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 brings improved AI performance for tasks like activity tracking and noise cancellation during calls. The chip is really similar to the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 with some downgrades in the...

Deals: the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is here, the small Pixel 9 Pro is a week out

We welcomed the vanilla Google Pixel 9 and the Pixel 9 Pro XL flagship at the end of August, now attention shifts towards the small Pro and Google’s next-generation foldable.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold shifts to a more traditional 20:9 aspect ratio for the cover display, compared to 17.4:9 for the original Pixel Fold. Also, the inner display grows significantly with the new 8” diagonal. There’s also the more efficient Tensor G4 chipset, but that pretty much covers the major upgrades this year.

Weekly poll: is the Honor Magic V3 the right foldable for you?

The Honor Magic V3 is impressively tough – did you watch us freeze it into a block of ice and smash it on the ground? We’re not the only ones to try – and fail – to break the V3 either. Honor has put a lot of work into designing the hardware and durability may not even be the best thing about this phone.

When folded, the Magic V3 measures 156.6 x 74.0 x 9.2mm and weighs 226g. For comparison, a Galaxy S24 Ultra is 162.3 x 79.0 x 8.6mm and 232g, while an iPhone 15 Pro Max is 159.9 x 76.7 x 8.3mm and 221g. If durability concerns are why you won’t get a foldable, there’s not much to worry...
