Foxconn hires 50,000 more workers in China to ramp up iPhone 16 production

Apple will likely unveil the iPhone 16 lineup in September, and it has reportedly set a shipment target of 90 million iPhone 16 units. To meet the target, Apple's manufacturing partner Foxconn has hired 50,000 new workers at its Zhengzhou factory in China, reports BusinessKorea.

The peak iPhone production season usually begins in August and ends in December, and in an effort to ramp up the iPhone 16 production by hiring new workers, Foxconn started offering an increased hourly wage of up to 25 Yuan (about 4,800 Won) in late July.

Samsung gifted a Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition to all the athletes at Paris 2024, and the company now revealed one of the most used features by participants and fans.

iPad Air with OLED display rumored for 2026

The iPad Air lineup got a mild upgrade earlier this year with the new 11 and 13-inch models featuring the Apple M2 chip but both were still equipped with Liquid Retina IPS LCDs.

OpenAI introduces cheaper GPT-4o mini

OpenAI just announced GPT-4o mini – a new compact but powerful AI model aiming to make the GPT-4 engine more affordable.

The price is set at 15 cents per 1 million input tokens and 60 cents per 1 million output tokens, which is a lot cheaper than GPT-3.5 Turbo.
