The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 now comes in Doraemon Special Edition

Shortly after the official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6, the company announced the Z Flip6 Olympic Edition as well, to celebrate the Olympic Games Paris 2024 happening in August. But Samsung isn't done yet - it also worked with the world's biggest Doraemon exhibition in Hong Kong to deliver the Z Flip6 Doraemon Special Edition.

There's no change to the internals and the Z Flip6 Doraemon Special Edition is identical to the standard version spec-wise. However, the special edition handset features a distinctive Doraemon light blue color and offers a Doraemon-themed Flipsuit...

Top 10 trending phones of week 28

The Samsung Galaxy A55 streak is at an end, but perhaps not the way everyone expected. While Samsung unveiled its latest foldables this week it was Nothing's affordable CMF Phone 1 that ended as the most popular phone in our databaseis in week 28.

[#InlinePriceWidget, 13122, 1#]

The silver medalist was arguably even more surprising - the OnePlus Nord 4 is only making its official debut next week, but you guys clearly can't wait.

We then have the familiar trio of Galaxy A55, Galaxy S24 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro, only this time they occupy positions three through five.

Deals: Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6 and Motorola razr+ 2024, early Prime Day deals

Samsung unveiled its next generation foldables this week and they are set to become available on July 24. However, Motorola has chosen that exact same date to launch its new razrs.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 is basically without competition – for now, at least. Google and OnePlus are bound to launch new horizontal foldables later this year. The Z Fold6 and the Z Flip6 are the first foldables to have particle protection. It’s just an IP48 rating, so only coarser particles are repelled (but dust can still get in). Still, with this and improvements to the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and Armor...

Weekly poll: will you buy the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 or Galaxy Z Flip6?

Samsung refreshed its two foldable lines this week with new Z Fold and new Z Flip models. Currently, they are on pre-order and will go on open sale on July 24 (or a bit later in some markets). Check out our hands-on review for a closer look at both models. Are you considering getting one?

Let’s consider the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 first. Samsung tweaked the aspect ratios of both the cover display (now 6.3”, 22.1:9) and the main display (now a 7.6” panel with a 10.5:9 aspect ratio). It’s a subtle change, but it does bring a noticeable improvement to usability.

Deals: Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 go on pre-order, CMF Phone 1 tackles Android mid-rangers

Samsung’s new foldables are on pre-order now and will be released on July 19. Amazon has interesting bundles, for example, you can get the Galaxy Z Fold6 (256GB) paired with the Galaxy Watch Ultra for £2,160. Considering the phone’s usual price is £1,800, this gets you the flagship watch for £360 – and not its usual £600 price.

Another interesting pairing is the Z Fold6 with the Galaxy Buds3 – somehow, this costs £1,763, which is less than the price of just the phone. If you prefer the Galaxy Buds3 Pro instead, that bundle is £1,817.

Nothing sells 100,000 CMF Phone 1 units in three hours

Nothing unveiled the CMF Phone 1 this past Monday, and the phone went on sale earlier today. The company is now happily reporting that it managed to sell over 100,000 units in the first three hours of availability.

For context, the Nothing Phone (2a), which launched back in March, needed 24 hours to reach the same sales figure, so one could say that the CMF Phone 1 is selling eight times faster.

To celebrate the occasion, Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis said:

Following the incredible success of Phone (2a) in March, CMF Phone 1 is a breath of fresh air in a stagnating value...

Realme 13 Pro+ gets unboxed on video by company exec

Realme is launching the 13 Pro and 13 Pro+ later this month, and ahead of that it's now ramping up its teaser/hype campaign for the upcoming duo. Today Chase Xu, Realme's VP and President of Global Marketing for the brand has taken to X to unbox the Realme 13 Pro+ on video. This is undoubtedly the world's very first unboxing of the phone.

Xu highlights the design, saying it really does look like a piece of art, which makes sense when you consider that it's been inspired by works by the French painter Oscar-Claude Monet. In fact, two of the three colorways are even named after him: Monet...
